ADVANCED DIPLOMA OF YOGA TEACHING

The Yoga Institute offers an ADVANCED DIPLOMA (150 hours) course for yoga teachers seeking to deepen their knowledge and further develop their teaching skills. Below are details of the course. Each subject can also be taken as an individual yoga studies course.

Advanced Diploma Course -150 accredited training hours (over 6 months) includes:

• Yoga Philosophy and Classical Texts
• Advanced studies in Yoga Anatomy and Physiology
• Mantra and Chanting as tools of Meditation
• In depth studies into Integrated Practice Design, Techniques and Teaching Skills
• Mentoring
• Practicum
• Regular classes

Completion of this course provides members of the peak body Yoga Australia (formerly YTAA) with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points towards higher level membership.

THE COURSE IS SUITABLE FOR:

  • Yoga teachers who have completed the Yoga Institute’s Diploma of Yoga Teaching or an equivalent qualification

Curriculum

Following completion of the Diploma course, further training is available in the Advanced Diploma. This course includes:

Level II Anatomy and Physiology

Deepen your understanding of the main systems of the body including the respiratory, nervous and digestive systems. 15 hour course + 5 hours of home study.

Classical Yoga Texts

Explore the important yoga texts the Bhagavad Gita and the Nathamuni’sYoga Rahasya 15 hour course + 5 hours of home study.


•Integrated Practice Design and Teaching Skills

Asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra, chanting, mudra, bhavana etc there are many tools of yoga. Consolidate your ability to design highly effective practices combining various techniques for target groups and individuals with specific needs. 47 hour course + 8 hours of home study.


• Meditation: Mantra and Chanting

Develop your knowledge and experience of mantra and chanting as tools of meditation. 15 hour course + 5 hours of home study.

Practicum 

The focus of this practicum is independent teaching and private client case studies.


Professional Mentoring (minimum of 3 sessions, monthly recommended)

Ongoing personalised guidance of student’s home yoga practice and practicum review.
