Graduate Teaching Opportunities

Graduates of the Yoga Institute teacher training course will have the unique opportunity to apply for a range of graduate teaching positions. These opportunities include:

• Teaching yoga classes at various centres and locations conducted by Yoga Sanga, as well as other affiliated yoga centres.
• Classes and programmes offered with affiliated yoga centres and organisations in workplace and corporate settings, schools, hospitals, and other community or organisational settings.
• A range of workshops, retreats and intensive courses.

Further graduate teaching opportunities in Yoga and Yoga Therapy are currently being developed through the Yoga Institute. You will also have the opportunity to develop a complete career path as a full-time or part-time professional Yoga teacher with the help of these graduate teaching positions.

Continuing Professional Development

Continuing professional development (CPD) is important for all teachers seeking to advance professionally and deepen their understanding of yoga.

The Yoga Institute offers a comprehensive CPD program of specialist courses and experiential workshops. Refer to our website for more information.

The peak industry body, YTAA recognises the importance of the yoga sector maintaining a high professional standard. Accordingly, it is now a requirement that YTAA members earn at least 36 CPD points in each 3 years of membership. A commitment to ongoing education also enables members to advance their membership to Level 2 or 3. Please refer to the YTAA website for more information The Yoga Institute will ensure that courses are recognised by the YTAA for CPD point approval.

Teacher's Network

Once students graduate from our Diploma of Yoga Teaching course we like to stay connected and support their teaching.

Graduates are invited to be part of the Yoga Institute's Teacher's Network database. Here we promote teachers who practice yoga in the tradition of Krishnamacharya.

Trainee teachers are required to attend yoga classes in this tradition during their yoga studies. Students refer to this database to find a conveniently located yoga school or class.
